It was Jorie the Coffee Reader who predicted I would
move to a place with either hills or river or water
in its name. It was not Beverly Hills - simply Long
Beach, Indiana where I ended up. Although we had been
friends for many years, my move definitely sealed our
friendship. Gigi became my emergency number, my advisor
and my partner in crime. Did you know we were going
to open a trick shop in Michigan City? Why? Because
April Fool's Day was Gigi's favorite holiday. Now
we knew it probably wouldn't have been very profitable
but we would have leisurely hours and lots of fun at
the trick shop trade shows. I vied against Mia for Lakeshore
Appraisal's Employee of the Year and lost. When I first
moved into the beach house a mysterious hooded person
was spotted creeping around the deck. Turns out it was
the generous Gigi who was installing my new alarm system.
Who can forget the croaking security frog that kept
my guests in the little room upstairs awake all night
when it was even just a little breezy. I would arrive
at home many nights and find gifts or cards in the front
door from Mia or the Twins. Donna Ho was born on my
deck; Elvis stopped the traffic on Lake Shore Drive
one night. A "movie" wasn't a movie without Gigi
(and the Boss would never know - or so we thought).
Life will never be the same without her. Hey Gi, I hit
the ROYAL FLUSH!!! Thanks.
