Mark your calendars for the
Memorial Weekend 5K Run on Saturday, May 24th 2008. The
race begins at 9am (CDT), registration on the day of the
race is from 7:00 - 7:30am (CDT). Pre-registration cost is
$25 and includes a free T-shirt distributed on the day
of the event. Same day registration costs $30.

The scenic 5K course at Long
Beach Community Center includes a stretch along
beautiful Lake Michigan. The terrain is fairly hilly and
this diversity makes it a unique course. Course follows
along the lake, hills and the Long Beach Country Club
golf course.
Proceeds benefit the 2BigHearts Foundation, an
organization devoted to increasing awareness of the
issue of heart disease in women, and to raising funds
for organizations dedicated, specifically,
to education and treatment of women's heart health care.
Overall male, overall
female, and age group awards given at the end of the
day.

From Chicago: Take Dan Ryan
South to Skyway exit (I-90 East). Stay on I-90 East for
about 30 miles to exit #21 (Lake Station/I-94/Detroit).
Go east on I-94 towards Detroit for about 25 miles to
exit 40-B (Michigan City/US-20/US-35). Follow merge onto
35 north until US 12. Make a right onto US 12. At the
3rd light go left onto Karwick Rd. Follow Karwick into
Long Beach or signs to parking and event.

I wanted to thank you for including your 2 Big
Hearts race into the CRS Gold Cup Series. I love
this race, I love the course and what a great
cause! I live in Michigan City however, I run in
Long Beach (for the hills). I used this course as a
training run for the Chicago Marathon and used the
'big hill' for hill repeats. This is definitely my
favorite 5K. See you in May 2008!!
